Project 300

The aim of “Project 300” is to engage citizens in the efforts to solve problem of safety on Bulgarian roads.  To accomplish this, a website on which road rule violators were revealed was developed.  Our project is called “300” in reference to the legend of 300 Spartan warriors.  Accordingly, our goal was to attract 300 active Bulgarian youngsters to undertake the role of road safety reporting.  At the end of the project, the collected information was delivered in the form of a report to local and national authorities and the media.

The project is co-funded by the “Youth in Action” program of the European Union and is carried out by Open Youth in partnership with the Municipality of Vidin (Bulgaria) and Responsible Young Drivers (Belgium). Eight young Belgian drivers participated in the startup meeting from the 10th to 14th of March 2010 in Vidin.
