As you probably know, every year, youngsters from all around Europe and neighborhood organize thousands of positive peer to peer awareness field activities to fight for a better road safety amongst European youngsters. We, youngsters of today, supported by the European Commission, are convinced that it is young people themselves who can make a difference in changing the mentalities and behaviors of their peers.

The European Youth Forum for Road Safety is a meeting of youngsters coming from all around Europe and are active and very involved in the road safety awareness field. Its main objective is to favor road safety among young adults and improve the exchange of good practices, experience, trainings and knowledge between Youth NGO’s located in all EU Member States and neighborhood.

Therefore, on the 1st and 2nd of July 2010, the 3rd edition of the European Youth Forum for Road Safety will take place at the European Commission's premises, in Brussels: the scope is to consolidate the network and agree on common actions which will reinforce the messages throughout Europe.

There is indeed a strong will from all European youngsters and NGO’s to implement common field actions and to be able to access effective tools and support in order to be stronger and reach a maximum of youngsters through cost-efficient campaigns. As we have to learn from past experience, this 3rd Youth Forum 2010 will focus on concrete projects and taking-back-home actions and tools, in order to enforce road safety campaigns by gaining in credibility and experience. Furthermore, the Forum’s project will surely be emphasized thanks to the European connotation: Young people are nowadays very attracted by this idea of being European citizen, sharing cultures, tradition, experiences.

This year, the Forum also opens its borders to 7 neighboring countries (from which 5 new participants) : Iceland, Norway, Ukraine, Croatia, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. In total, 65 motivated and determined youngsters will gather in Brussels in order to take back home tools, campaign and guidelines to implement a commun event in their home land.

How are we going to consolidate our network and make it concrete?
Well, the Forum foresees to implement a common European campaign (on posters), but also several common field activities by bringing effective awareness tools and support at a European level, thanks to the European Commission. Those will strengthen the knowledge and skills of all delegates representing their country and organizations, hence reaching a maximum of youngsters through cost-efficient campaigns.
